About 100 Pillars

The 100 Pillars of AUA is a group of 100 benefactors who pledge to support the mission of AUA in the most fundamental way: through unrestricted giving that will allow the university to address its most pressing needs. With an unrestricted gift of $10,000 per year for five years, each of the 100 Pillars will help maintain a solid platform from which the leaders of tomorrow can leap forth. AUA is built on the firm belief that if students are exposed to contemporary teaching and learning practices, if they are armed with the skills needed for the future, and are nurtured in an ethical learning environment, they will become the beacons of tomorrow and the foundation for Armenia’s future. The 100 Pillars of AUA share this belief and trust that, given the resources they need to excel, the students, faculty, staff and administrators of AUA can live up to it.

Together, through this collective philanthropic effort, the 100 Pillars of AUA will uphold the standards of academic excellence, innovation and ethical leadership that we strive for at AUA, every day.

Unrestricted gifts are the most important gifts to AUA. They give the University the ultimate flexibility – to seize opportunities and address unforeseen challenges as they arise. They also improve the quality of campus life. AUA’s tuition is heavily subsidized thanks to our generous donors, with tuition on covering about ⅓ of the cost of educating each student. As AUA grows, unrestricted gifts can help meet the surge in need for student financial aid; they may help with construction costs as we expand our state-of-the-art facilities; they may also help us recruit and retain international faculty who are leaders in their fields. These are just a few examples of how unrestricted funds can help AUA be at the forefront of Armenia’s development.
